The Washington State Council of Fire Fighters (WSCFF), the Washington Fire Chiefs (WFC), and the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) are teaming up to host Fire Ops 101. This event will be held on Friday, May 7, 2010, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Volpentest Hammer Training and Education Center in Richland, Washington, with a mandatory orientation, briefing, and reception on Thursday, May 6, from 5 to 7 p.m. The WSCFF has reserved a block of rooms at the Red Lion Hotel Richland Hanford House. Room rates are $70 for a single and $100 for a double. This rate will be offered until Tuesday April 6, 2010. To reserve your room, call 1-800-RedLion and identify yourself as part of the "FIRE OPS" group. This one-day basic fire ground operations orientation is intended for public officials, representatives of the media, and civilians, and will emphasize the required skills and inherent risks of professional fire fighting and emergency medical response. Each participant will receive an actual fire fighter helmet as a memento. Information about FIRE OPS 2010 was announced at the WSCFF Convention in June and has been posted on IAFF 7 th District Vice President Ricky Walsh’s website since October 2009. At this point, most available spaces have been reserved and will be confirmed upon payment. If you are interested in participating, please contact the WSCFF office. You will be placed on a waitlist and notified if a space becomes available. If you have any questions or to reserve a space on the waitlist, please contact the WSCFF office at 800-572-5762 or email debbie@wscff.org.
Thank you for your continued support of the WSCFF, WFC, and the IAFF.
