The Second Alarm Foundation
The Second Alarm Foundation
“Helping Peru’s Firefighters Save Lives and Property”
The WSCFF Benevolent Fund, a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt foundation, is proud of its work with this project in helping the country of Peru gain access to modern fire equipment. The Second Alarm Foundation works with fire departments in Washington State to attain surplused fire trucks, aid cars, protective gear, and fire or emergency medical equipment so it can be donated to the Peruvian Fire Service.
Prior to 2003, surplus equipment from the State of Washington and/or local government was not allowed to be donated to foreign governments. House Bill 1494 was signed by Governor Gary Locke on May 14, 2003 that allows local government to sell, transfer, exchange, lease, or otherwise dispose of personal property to a foreign entity. The WSCFF and others lobbied successfully for this legislation.
Please take the time to learn more about the efforts of The Second Alarm Foundation and help with the cause. If you wish to donate surplus equipment, apparatus or other fire service gear, please contact at the address below. Further, you may donate cash to help purchase other goods for the Peruvian Fire Service. Please send all requests or donations to:
