WSCFF Home | Benevolent Fund | Collector's Coins A tradition within the Washington State fire fighter ranks, starting shortly after 9/11, Lakewood Fire Fighters Union minted coins to reflect the fire fighters raising the flag at the World Trade Center in New York and the IAFF emblem on the back. The practice of coining has become very important to many of our members, much like it is with military units of the Armed Forces. Picking up from that idea, the WSCFF Public Relations Committee minted coins with a dated WSCFF graphic and IAFF emblem to attest devotion to our professional affiliations.
